Major Taiwanese airlines EVA Air and Starlux Airlines have been recognized with prestigious five-star ratings at the Skytrax World Airline Awards, held in London. EVA Air also received accolades such as the best premium economy class and the most family-friendly airline, reflecting its commitment to passenger service. It maintained a top 11 ranking globally and announced plans to expand its Asian route network with new flights to New Delhi.
Starlux Airlines, debuting in 2020 and ranked 13th worldwide, achieved the distinction of being the cleanest airline in the world, a recognition of its cabin hygiene standards. The airline's CEO emphasized the awards' significance in acknowledging the quality of service and employee dedication.
According to Skytrax, nine of the top ten airlines are based in Asia, led by Singapore Airlines and Qatar Airways, with Air France being the only non-Asian airline in the top tier. The Skytrax rankings are based on extensive passenger surveys evaluating airline product and service standards, making these awards highly influential in the aviation industry.
