Tecnam has partnered with Blue Skies Aviation Solutions to launch a new approved pilot training organization in Sri Lanka. Equipped with an all-Tecnam fleet comprising P-Mentors and P2006T NG aircraft, the academy aims to develop a regional hub for professional pilot training. Initial plans include enrolling 15 students per intake, with a capacity to train up to 60 annually, covering license levels from PPL to CPL and IFR/VFR training.

According to Don Asitha Manage, Managing Director of Blue Skies Aviation, this initiative marks a milestone in Sri Lanka's aviation landscape, emphasizing safety, regulatory compliance, and training quality. The partnership leverages the efficiencies of Tecnam aircraft, known for their fuel economy and low maintenance costs, supported by EASA CS-23 certification which enhances international acceptance.

Significance for Regional Aviation

The collaboration signifies a strategic move to bolster professional pilot training in South Asia with modern aircraft and robust regulatory standards. Tecnam's Chief Sales Officer, Walter Da Costa, expressed optimism about the partnership, highlighting the aircraft's efficiency and profitability as key benefits. As Sri Lanka develops its aviation training capabilities, this new academy is positioned to support long-term regional growth by producing qualified pilots ready for global airline expectations.
