Aircraft manufacturer Tecnam has finalized a detailed technical training and support initiative for Indian Flight Training Organisations (FTOs), following its recent establishment of a direct factory representation in India. The program involved deploying Tecnam experts to work closely with local academies such as ARCA Aviation, Chimes Aviation Academy, FSTC, Orient Flights, Red Bird Aviation, and Vision Flying Training Institute, with the goal of bolstering maintenance standards amidst a surge in pilot training demand.
In collaboration with India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Tecnam dispatched mechanics from Italy to deliver hands-on training on its single and twin-engine aircraft platforms. The training addressed routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and advanced avionics systems, ensuring Indian cadets and maintenance crews are equipped with the latest technical knowledge.
"Working shoulder-to-shoulder with the Indian maintenance teams has been very rewarding," said Antoniou Constantinos, Tecnam Maintenance Instructor. "This initiative guarantees that Tecnam aircraft in India uphold the same high standards as in Capua, enhancing fleet uptime and safety."
Walter Da Costa, Tecnam’s Chief Sales Officer, highlighted that this program demonstrates Tecnam’s ongoing commitment to close collaboration and support for India’s expanding flight training sector. The initiative aims to empower local teams for efficient fleet management, safety, and cost optimization, fostering a stronger partnership between Tecnam and Indian aviation stakeholders.
