Textron Aviation has recently opened a new service facility at Essendon Fields Airport in Melbourne, aiming to expand factory-direct support for its Cessna, Beechcraft, and Hawker aircraft operators across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. The facility, more than doubling the previous operation, spans over 35,000 square feet and supports a fleet of over 1,400 aircraft, including Cessna, Beechcraft, and Hawker models. It features increased maintenance capacity, an on-site parts inventory, and upgraded customer amenities.
Brian Rohloff, SVP of Global Customer Support at Textron Aviation, commented on the strategic significance of the new site: “The Essendon Fields facility signifies our ongoing commitment to providing faster, more accessible support in the region, driven by customer feedback. It enhances our capability to minimize downtime and improve parts availability.” The Melbourne location strengthens Textron’s regional service network and complements recent upgrades at facilities in Perth. Its proximity to Essendon Fields Airport, the closest airport to Melbourne’s CBD, is designed to facilitate business aviation operations.
Representatives from Essendon Fields echoed the importance of the new center: “Our partnership with Textron Aviation underscores our ambition to develop Australia’s premier business aviation precinct, supporting ongoing growth and skilled jobs in the sector.” The new support facility underscores Textron’s strategy to invest in regional expansion, providing crucial technical support and maintenance services to aircraft owners in Australia and the Asia-Pacific.
