Textron Aviation Defense Secures First Contract to Supply T-6 Texan II to Japan
Textron Aviation Defense LLC has announced that it has finalized its first contract to deliver the Beechcraft T-6JP Texan II integrated training system to Japan’s Air Self-Defense Force. The agreement includes the delivery of two aircraft along with instructor and aircraft maintainer training materials, with initial deliveries scheduled for 2029. This partnership aims to boost Japan’s pilot training capabilities with a globally trusted system that has been adopted by multiple nations.
The Beechcraft T-6 Texan II, produced by Textron Aviation Defense LLC, is recognized as one of the most widely used military flight trainers worldwide, with over 1,000 in service and more than 5 million flight hours logged. Its cost-effectiveness and proven performance have made it a preferred choice for various air forces, including NATO and the United States military.
