Thai AirAsia, a major low-cost carrier operating from Bangkok Don Mueang, is initiating a capital raising effort through the issuance of THB 1.5 billion (USD 46 million) in high-risk, secured, callable debentures. The airline plans to offer up to 1.5 million units with a par value of THB 1,000 (USD 30), targeting institutional and high-net-worth investors in a subscription period from April 7 to 9, with the public offering scheduled for April 10. The Thailand Securities and Exchange Commission approved the issuance on April 2.

The three-year bond carries an annual coupon rate of 5.4%, representing a strategic move to strengthen the airline’s financial position. Thai AirAsia’s operational profile includes a fleet of 62 aircraft, servicing 72 destinations across 100 routes with about 420 flights daily from its Bangkok Don Mueang base.

This debt issuance aligns with the carrier’s ongoing efforts to expand its market share in the region and supports its broader business goals. Stakeholders can find further information on the stock exchange platform, reflecting the company’s focus on financial resilience and growth.
