Thai AirAsia announced that its scheduled carrier operation at Bangkok Don Mueang will begin replacing Thai AirAsia X on the direct route to Seoul Incheon starting May 1, 2026. This transition involves switching from Airbus A330-300 aircraft to Airbus A320-200N jets, with the route maintaining a daily frequency. The airline has indicated plans to increase the frequency to twice daily in the future, though it will not operate widebody aircraft routes due to the range limitations of its fleet.

In addition to route network adjustments, Thai AirAsia is targeting domestic market share growth from 40% to 45% during 2026 and plans to add four to five aircraft to its fleet, reflecting its focus on regional connectivity and domestic expansion. The company's strategic moves aim to strengthen its position as a low-cost carrier serving key markets within Thailand and beyond, leveraging its updated fleet capabilities to meet increasing demand.
