Thai Airways has announced it will resume all scheduled flights starting October 3, following a temporary reduction caused by staffing shortages. The airline previously cut 15 flights on October 1 and nine on October 2 to align its operations with available manpower. To support passengers, the airline will open its ticket office at its headquarters on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road on October 3 and 4, from 8am to 5pm.
This operational adjustment was undertaken to mitigate disruptions resulting from a labor shortage affecting flight schedules. Thai Airways expressed appreciation for passenger understanding and apologized for the inconvenience caused. The airline is reviewing its management procedures to better handle future disruptions and intends to restore its full service capacity in the upcoming days.
Operational Response and Passenger Support
The carrier's quick response involved mobilising additional personnel and resources across its operations. Despite the reduction in flights, Thai Airways emphasized its readiness to operate full schedules from October 3 onward. No specific details about the individual flights affected or total services scheduled for that day have been disclosed. Meanwhile, additional ticketing services on the weekend aim to enhance passenger support as the airline works to stabilize its flight operations.
The incident underscores ongoing challenges within the aviation sector related to staffing and operational resilience. Thai Airways committed to reviewing its procedures to ensure smoother operations in the future, aiming to prevent similar disruptions that impact travelers and the airline's reputation.
