European leisure carrier TUI has announced its role as a launch customer for Amadeus’ Navitaire Stratos, a cloud-based retailing platform designed for low-cost airlines. The new system aims to modernize shopping functionalities, offering customers the ability to search and save offers, access personalized recommendations, and easily add ancillary services such as car rentals and accommodations.

Peter Glade, TUI Airline’s Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted that this implementation represents a significant step toward building the most modern airline commercial setup in the industry. The Stratos platform is expected to enhance retailing capabilities through intelligent recommendations, dynamic offers, and a more streamlined shopping cart, ultimately driving increased revenues by providing more relevant product offers and maximizing upsELL and cross-sell opportunities.

Strategic Technology Ecosystem

Amadeus’ Navitaire Stratos is part of an evolving technology ecosystem aligned with IATA’s offer and order protocols. Built on open IT architecture and infused with artificial intelligence capabilities, the platform promises greater flexibility, resilience, and customer-centric operations, supporting airlines in maintaining a competitive edge.

“We are proud to work with TUI Airline as a launch customer for Navitaire Stratos,”

said Cyril Tetaz, Amadeus’ Executive Vice President of Airline Solutions, emphasizing the importance of the ongoing collaboration as TUI transitions from its previous system and aims to shape next-generation offer and order solutions for hybrid and low-cost carriers.

With the new platform, TUI expects to see improved conversion rates and extra sales through smarter upsell and cross-sell recommendations, including partner content embedded through industry-standard frameworks. TUI InfoTec, the company’s IT subsidiary, will oversee the implementation process.
