Turkish Airlines, in collaboration with Plaza Premium Group, has officially opened a new airport lounge at Edinburgh Airport. This new facility is notable for being the airline's first lounge in the United Kingdom and its eighth outside Türkiye. The 673-square-meter lounge is tailored to accommodate 149 guests and features designated zones, including a premium seating area, VIP lounge, prayer room with ablution facilities, and a nursing room. It is designed to provide passengers with a tranquil environment, overlooking the Edinburgh runway and surrounding hills.
The newly launched lounge aims to elevate the post-security experience for Turkish Airlines' Business Class passengers, Miles&Smiles members, Star Alliance carriers, and partners of Plaza Premium Group. The design reflects Turkish cultural heritage by integrating culinary influences from Central Asia, the Middle East, and the Balkans, fostering a sense of comfort and cultural storytelling at the airport. The lounge’s natural light and views create an inviting space for travelers before their flights.
"The opening of our new Turkish Airlines Lounge at Edinburgh Airport marks an important milestone for our airline. As our first abroad lounge in Europe and our eighth outside of Türkiye, this investment demonstrates our deep commitment to our European operations where we already possess a strong presence as the best airline of the continent. Looking ahead, we will continue to build on our presence in the region and bringing our award-winning hospitality closer to travellers here,"
said Akif Konar, Turkish Airlines.
Bora Isbulan, Deputy CEO of Plaza Premium Group, added, "The inauguration of the Turkish Airlines Lounge in Edinburgh is a milestone in our strategic partnership. The lounge reflects our mutual dedication to service excellence and innovation in the region." Okan Küfeci, Senior Vice President EMEA of Plaza Premium Group, emphasized that the lounge embodies Turkish hospitality with international standards, offering a memorable, serene experience for all passengers. This strategic expansion strengthens Turkish Airlines' European presence and commitment to enhancing passenger service standards.
