Turkish Airlines has finalized a comprehensive agreement with GE Aerospace to supply engines, spare parts, and maintenance services for its upcoming fleet of 75 Boeing 787 aircraft, which includes 35 of the 787-9 variant and 15 of the 787-10, with additional options for 25 more. The deal aligns with the company's strategic plan to expand its long-haul fleet and strengthen international routes.
The airline has confirmed deliveries of these aircraft between 2029 and 2034. After a competitive tender process, GE Aerospace was selected to provide the GEnx engines and full maintenance coverage, emphasizing the airline's focus on operational efficiency and fleet modernization.
Currently, Turkish Airlines operates over 200 Boeing aircraft, including 737 and 777 variants, as well as the 787-9. The new aircraft are expected to serve high-demand intercontinental routes connecting Turkey to regions such as Africa, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and North America, supporting the airline’s growth and international capacity increase.
