The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of the United Arab Emirates has announced the gradual resumption of flight operations across UAE airports amid ongoing regional airspace disruptions. Several carriers, including Emirates, flydubai, and Air Arabia, are operating limited flights, prioritizing passengers with earlier bookings, while many scheduled services remain suspended. Passengers are advised to regularly check their flight statuses online and follow official updates to ensure smooth travel. Regional disruptions continue to impact the aviation sector, with authorities emphasizing safety and operational safety as top priorities.
Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central (DWC) resumed limited operations on March 2, with select flights to accommodate stranded passengers. Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport (AUH) has also partially resumed operations; however, Etihad Airways’ scheduled flights remain suspended until 2:00 pm UAE time on March 4. Meanwhile, Sharjah Airport has announced a partial resumption of services tonight, with flights to Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, and Iraq temporarily suspended until March 5 due to ongoing regional issues.
Indian Relief Flights Support Restored Connectivity
Indian airlines have launched relief flights from the Middle East to assist stranded passengers. IndiGo announced ten flights from Jeddah to India, while SpiceJet has scheduled four special flights from Fujairah to various Indian cities, including Mumbai and Delhi. These measures aim to restore connectivity rapidly after the cancellation of about 357 flights on Monday, with operations gradually restoring by evening. Aviation authorities and governments continue to coordinate efforts to ensure passenger safety and facilitate the resumption of full flight services once conditions permit.
