The United Arab Emirates' flag carrier, Etihad Airways, announced that it is resuming a limited schedule of flights from its hub in Abu Dhabi starting this Friday. The airline plans to operate flights to more than 70 destinations through March 19, aiming to restore more regular service despite regional unrest.

Despite ongoing strikes and security issues in the Middle East, Etihad has been gradually resuming some flights in recent days. Travelers with existing tickets as well as new customers will be able to fly, provided safety protocols are met. The region has seen widespread disruptions, with over 11,000 canceled flights across 10 countries, according to Flightradar24 data.

Regional Disruptions and Operational Challenges

Airports such as Dubai International have only partially resumed operations, with many flights still canceled due to ongoing conflict and strikes. These disruptions highlight the difficulties faced by airlines operating in this conflict zone, balancing safety concerns with the economic and logistical pressures of maintaining connectivity.

Officials and airline executives continue to monitor the regional security situation, and further schedule adjustments are anticipated as tensions remain high. The resumption of flights from Abu Dhabi is seen as a cautious step toward restoring normalcy in Middle Eastern aviation.
