The report highlights Jet2 as the most reliable in the UK, with 75.8 percent of its flights arriving on time in 2023, despite a decrease to 67.4 percent in the following year. Notably, Jet2 boasts an exceptionally low cancellation rate of just 0.02 percent, making it the lowest among domestic carriers, although its higher cost-per-mile figure affects its overall ranking.
easyJet follows as the second most reliable airline, with only 1.7 percent of its flights canceled in 2023 and further reduced to 1.1 percent in 2024. Virgin Atlantic, tied for third position, experienced a low cancellation rate of 0.5 percent in 2023, which rose to 1.7 percent in 2024. However, due to its smaller flight volume compared to larger airlines such as easyJet, Virgin's overall reliability is somewhat limited, according to the report.
The study also highlighted TUI for its low punctuality, with only 55 percent of its flights reaching destinations on time, despite maintaining a cancellation rate of just over 0.3 percent. Eastern Airways was identified as the least dependable, with a significant 12 percent cancellation rate.
