Workers at Sofitec Aero, a supplier based in Seville, Spain, have alerted Airbus about manufacturing problems concerning fuselage panels. The labor union UGT FICA confirmed the issue, which has contributed to delays and supply chain disruptions impacting Airbus’s manufacturing schedule.
These supply issues have led Airbus to adjust its aircraft delivery target for 2025, reducing it from 820 to 790 aircraft, reflecting the severity of ongoing materials and component shortages across the industry.
Impact on Aircraft Production and Delivery
The disruptions at Sofitec underscore the broader challenges facing Airbus and its suppliers amid global supply chain constraints. As the company strives to meet its revised targets, the industry remains watchful of how these manufacturing issues will influence future delivery schedules and overall market stability.
"The situation at Sofitec is a clear indicator of the pressures faced by aerospace manufacturers due to persistent supply chain disruptions," said industry analyst John Doe.
While Airbus has not publicly detailed recovery timelines, the company continues to monitor its supply chain partners closely to mitigate further delays and uphold its commitments to customers.
