United Airlines has launched its Polaris Studio product on its first international route using a Boeing 787-9 aircraft with a new ‘Elevated’ cabin configuration, operating flight UA1 from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Singapore Changi Airport (SIN). The aircraft features eight Polaris Studios, offering a redesigned passenger experience. The airline also announced the deployment of this aircraft configuration on the Singapore route, aiming to enhance comfort for international travelers.
United Airlines spokesperson Chen Chuanren explained that this new cabin design provides improved privacy and amenities for premium customers. The Polaris Studio seats have been reconfigured for greater space and comfort, aligning with United’s ongoing effort to elevate its product offerings for transpacific flights. Industry analysts believe this move underscores United’s focus on competitive differentiation in the Asia-Pacific market, especially on its flagship route to Singapore, a major hub for international travelers.
The airline has not disclosed plans for expanding this configuration to other routes but indicated that further updates are forthcoming. This deployment marks a significant step in United’s product modernization, targeting a luxury experience for its premium cabin passengers traveling between the United States and Asia.
