The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) Aviation Institute has announced the recipients of its 2026 Honors Convocation scholarships, distributing over $38,000 to 19 students who have demonstrated academic excellence and leadership in aviation. These scholarships, generously funded by donors and industry partners, aim to support students pursuing careers across various fields of aviation, including flight and administration.
Among the students recognized are Zachary Nanfito, John Arthur, Jacob Long, Connor Grell, Danica Brunk, Victoria Dannelly, Anna Mock, Izzy Vlasek, Calla Behney, Alex Duman, Shay Sinnard, Talia Meyer, Carter J. Fitzgerald, Ronan Baker, John Paul Broer, Benjamin Lautenshlager, Samuel Bergman, and Tyler Thieman. The Durham Scholarship, awarded for the highest academic achievement, was granted to Izzie Peetz.

The Institute also presented the Frank E. Sorenson Award to Sara Martin for her significant contributions to aviation education and student success.
