Vertical Aviation International (VAI) has announced its inaugural Southeast Asia Aviation Safety Conference (SAASC), scheduled to take place from May 27 to 29, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency Bali in Sanur, Indonesia. This regional event aims to bring together aviation operators, policymakers, manufacturers, and safety professionals to foster collaboration and share best practices in the field of vertical aviation safety.
The conference will feature plenary sessions, technical workshops, and interactive discussions on key topics such as human factors, safety culture, decision-making, data monitoring, and leadership accountability. Industry and regulatory representatives from organizations like ICAO, EASA, and the FAA will participate to share their expertise.
François Lassale, President and CEO of VAI, highlighted the unique operational challenges in Southeast Asia, including tropical weather and complex terrain, emphasizing the importance of locally relevant safety solutions. Lassale expressed pride in the participation of leading organizations such as Rotortrade, Airbus, Bell, and Willis Aviation, among others. The event also promises regional operator spotlights, regulator roundtables, and lessons-learned panels to promote industry-wide safety improvements.
Registration for attendees begins in January 2026 through the official website. With a focus on practical outcomes, the conference is designed to provide immediate and applicable safety tools for regional aviation stakeholders, supporting the goal to elevate operational safety across Southeast Asia.
