Vietjet, Vietnam's leading airline, has entered into a strategic partnership with CAE, a global leader in simulation and training solutions, through a formal Memorandum of Understanding. This agreement, announced on September 25, 2026, during a high-level Vietnam-Canada business dialogue in Ottawa, aims to enhance collaborative efforts across pilot, cabin crew, and technician training, as well as simulation technology and digital learning initiatives.
The MoU was publicly confirmed by Vietnamese government and media sources the following day. The cooperation focuses on five key areas: pilot training, cabin crew training, technician training, simulation technology, and digital learning, reflecting both organizations' commitment to advancing aviation skills and technological innovation.
As part of this initiative, three CAE 7000XR Airbus A320 Level D full-flight simulators currently operate at the Victoria Aviation Academy in Ho Chi Minh City, serving as a cornerstone of the training infrastructure. In December 2025, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam granted regulatory approval allowing Vietjet's aviation academy to independently manage and operate its CAE-manufactured A320 simulators—marking a significant milestone in the airline's training capabilities.
The transition from a former Airbus partnership to full in-house management indicates Vietjet's ongoing commitment to developing a comprehensive training environment. Consequently, starting in January 2026, the academy has expanded access to its three A320 flight simulators for external clients, thereby enhancing its contribution to regional aviation training and safety.
