Vietjet Thailand has officially introduced its Boeing 737-8 aircraft into commercial service, marking a significant milestone in the airline group’s fleet development strategy. The inaugural flight by the Boeing 737-8 is part of Vietjet Thailand’s plan to deploy up to 50 next-generation aircraft, supporting increased travel demand and network expansion across Thailand and the wider region. The Boeing 737-8 features advanced aerodynamics and LEAP-1B engines compatible with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), delivering substantial reductions in carbon emissions and noise levels, in accordance with ICAO standards. Vietjet continues to operate its Airbus fleet in Vietnam and aims to expand its international connectivity through key Asia–Pacific hubs. Meanwhile, Air India has resumed its non-stop flights between Delhi and Rome, Italy, after nearly six years. The new service, commencing from March 25, 2026, operates four times a week with Boeing 787-8 aircraft, offering Business and Economy class amenities. The launch aims to strengthen India-Italy ties, facilitate tourism, and enhance connectivity with Southeast Asia through Delhi’s expanding global network. Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer of Air India, emphasized the importance of this route in connecting India to the world, while Ivan Bassato, Chief Aviation Officer at Aeroporti di Roma, highlighted the economic and cultural benefits brought by the new service. Both developments reflect ongoing efforts to expand airline networks and promote sustainable and strategic growth in the aviation industry across Asia and Europe.
