Vietjet, a leading Vietnamese airline, has announced new cooperation agreements with two prominent Indian enterprises, GMR Airports Limited and Bird Group, aimed at expanding collaboration across various sectors including aviation infrastructure, services, and technological development. These agreements were formalized during the recent India-Vietnam Business Forum held in Mumbai, attended by Vietnam's Party General Secretary and President Tô Lâm.
The partnership with GMR Airports Limited will explore opportunities in air connectivity, airport infrastructure, logistics, and smart airport technologies, along with long-term investment projects. Meanwhile, the collaboration with Bird Group will focus on ground handling services, training programs, aviation technology, and hospitality services to enhance overall passenger experience.
Đinh Việt Phương, First Vice Chairman of Vietjet, stated that these strategic partnerships signify the beginning of a new era of economic and technological cooperation between the two nations, emphasizing their roles in connecting key markets across the region. Currently, Vietjet operates 25 routes connecting Vietnam and India, with approximately 80 flights per week, linking major cities such as New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru. Since its operations, the airline has carried over 2.5 million passengers between the two countries, reflecting strong bilateral ties and growing demand for air travel.
