Vietnam Airlines, the national carrier of Vietnam, announced the launch of a new nonstop route connecting Hanoi and Amsterdam, beginning June 16. The service will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays utilizing Airbus A350-900 aircraft. This new route aims to improve connectivity between Vietnam and Europe, providing a direct flight option from Hanoi to the Dutch capital.
Currently, passengers traveling between these two cities must connect through other European hubs, such as Paris, as Hanoi and Amsterdam are not directly connected due to the absence of nonstop flights. Both Hanoi and Amsterdam are hubs for the SkyTeam alliance, but the new service marks a significant step in direct air connectivity.
Vietnam Airlines already serves multiple European destinations, including Paris, Frankfurt, London, Munich, Milan, and Copenhagen. The airline plans to operate this new route as a same-day turnaround, enhancing operational efficiency.
The introduction of this nonstop service is expected to bolster tourism and business travel between the two nations, offering a convenient and faster option for travelers. This development underscores Vietnam Airlines' ongoing efforts to expand its international network and strengthen its presence in Europe.
