Delegates from Vietnam and India gathered at the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida on September 25 to strengthen bilateral cooperation in tourism and aviation. The event, part of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show 2026, focused on expanding air connectivity, increasing tourist flows, and attracting investments in hospitality and related sectors.
Trade Counselor and Head of the Vietnam Trade Office in India, Bui Trung Thuong, emphasized the importance of tourism and aviation for enhancing people-to-people exchanges and economic links. The rapid growth of direct flight routes has contributed to increased cultural and trade exchanges between the two nations.
Uttar Pradesh officials highlighted the region's potential for spiritual and Buddhist tourism and invited Vietnamese entrepreneurs to develop hotels and resorts near sacred sites. Collaboration with Noida International Airport was also a key topic, with Indian authorities interested in partnering with Vietnamese carriers to develop new routes and expand existing services.
Vietnamese airlines, including Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air, reported rising passenger demand and proposed joint marketing efforts and travel packages to facilitate connectivity. Both sides agreed to enhance information sharing, coordinate promotional campaigns, and organize familiarization trips to solidify the partnership.
The Vietnam Trade Office in India committed to supporting ongoing collaborations aimed at boosting tourism and investment, especially around Buddhist pilgrimage locations and transportation infrastructure.
