Vietnam has hosted its first international summit dedicated to sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) in Da Nang, uniting policymakers and industry leaders to bolster green aviation efforts in the region. The three-day Asia SAF Association Innovation & Policy Summit Vietnam 2026, from May 6 to 8, drew approximately 70 organizations representing governments, airlines, fuel producers, and technology sectors.

Participants signed agreements to enhance SAF development, focusing on capacity building, technical knowledge sharing, and policy support. Fabrice Espinosa, the founder and CEO of ASAFA, emphasized Vietnam's promising environment for establishing a robust SAF ecosystem and its potential to lead regional innovation.

Regional Collaboration and Future Outlook

The summit highlighted regional cooperation, investments, and technological advancements crucial for scaling sustainable aviation fuels. The success of this inaugural event paves the way for upcoming summits in Thailand and Malaysia, reinforcing Asia's commitment to sustainable aviation practices.
