Vietnam’s civil aviation sector experienced significant growth in 2025 while maintaining high safety standards. The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) proactively managed operations across the country, ensuring continuous domestic and international flights during peak travel periods and supporting socio-economic development.
According to CAAV Director General Uong Viet Dung, the industry focused on strengthening legal frameworks, addressing operational challenges, and expanding international air services under the open skies policy. The deployment of new digital systems like VNeID and A-CDM contributed to improved efficiency and capacity.
Internationally, Vietnam negotiated bilateral and multilateral agreements, now supporting 142 flights operated by 71 airlines from 30 countries. The industry transported over 69 million passengers and 1.2 million tonnes of cargo during the first ten months, reflecting an upward trend amidst ongoing modernization efforts.
Looking ahead, CAAV outlined strategic priorities for 2026, emphasizing regulatory completion, market sustainability, airline support, and technological advancement. These efforts reaffirm aviation’s vital role in Vietnam's development trajectory.
