Vietnam's business aviation sector is experiencing significant growth, supported by the country's expanding economy and increased integration into global supply chains. In an interview, Paul Desgrosseilliers, general manager at ExecuJet Haite Aviation Services, highlighted that as more aircraft enter service, the focus on regulatory readiness, maintenance capacity, and infrastructure development becomes critical to market confidence.
Though the Vietnamese market remains young, with roughly 10-12 business jets, the growth rate is rapid, with several more expected to enter service this year. The country’s economic sectors such as manufacturing and real estate are witnessing large-scale developments, increasing the demand for business aviation to facilitate international travel among companies and individuals.
Regulatory Certification and Local Support
Vietnam’s unique regulatory environment requires all aircraft operated domestically to be registered locally, motivating ExecuJet to obtain certification to support Vietnamese-registered jets. The certification, completed six months ago, allows the company to provide maintenance services within Vietnam, bolstering local capabilities.
Market Position and Regional Comparison
Vietnam was among the first Southeast Asian countries targeted by ExecuJet for expansion, driven by existing customer relationships, aircraft type compatibility, and geographic proximity to China. While the fleet size is still modest compared to Singapore or Indonesia, the upcoming deliveries and market confidence indicate robust long-term growth prospects.
Infrastructure development is projected to evolve as new airports and FBOs are constructed, supporting an expanding fleet. In the meantime, proximity to China enables efficient cross-border support for Vietnam’s business aircraft needs.
