VietJetAir, a major low-cost carrier based in Hanoi, has unveiled plans for significant fleet expansion and a new hybrid business approach aimed at balancing operational efficiency with enhanced passenger services. Announced at an aviation summit, the strategy emphasizes the deployment of new widebody aircraft and the integration of advanced connectivity solutions.

The airline’s fleet will include eight A330-300s already in operation and an order for forty A330-900N aircraft, with delivery scheduled before the end of 2026. Additionally, VietJetAir is adopting Starlink satellite connectivity on 120 aircraft to improve onboard internet experience for passengers. These investments support its goal to expand its international route network and appeal to a wider customer base.

Strategic Growth and Connectivity

The hybrid model aims to combine cost discipline with a broader fare and service offering, enabling VietJetAir to compete in both the low-cost and premium segments across its expanding route map. The airline's leadership highlighted the importance of these upgrades in positioning the carrier for future global expansion.

Overall, VietJetAir is positioning itself for future growth through fleet modernization and technological enhancements, which are expected to strengthen its market presence in Asia and beyond.
