Virgin Atlantic plans to commence daily flights from Incheon International Airport (ICN) to London Heathrow (LHR) using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft beginning March 29, 2024. The airline provides three cabin options—Upper Class, Premium, and Economy—which include complimentary meals, entertainment, and Wi-Fi services. This service marks Virgin Atlantic as the only airline offering premium options on direct routes from Seoul to London.

In addition to expanding its route network, Virgin Atlantic will introduce in-flight services tailored to Korean customers, such as Korean-inspired cuisine and entertainment. To bolster its market presence, the airline has appointed Yoon Eun-joo as its Korean representative. Mrs. Yoon brings over twenty years of aviation industry experience in Korea and Southeast Asia and will oversee Virgin Atlantic’s growth efforts in the region.

Market Strategy and Local Partnership

Rizle Gerrique, Virgin Atlantic’s general manager for the Asia-Pacific region, expressed optimism regarding Korea’s rapidly growing market, emphasizing the importance of building strong local partnerships. The airline aims to provide distinct services that cater to local preferences, bolstering its competitive position in the Korean aviation sector and enhancing connectivity between Seoul and London.
