On March 13, 2026, Volatus Aerospace Inc. announced the completion of its acquisition of the remaining 41.53% minority interest in Synergy Aviation Ltd., granting the company full ownership of the subsidiary. This move enables Volatus to consolidate its commercial aircraft operations and align its governance and capital allocation across its diversified aerospace and defense platforms.
The consideration for the minority stake was 2,444,243 common voting shares, with the value based on the 30-day VWAP on the TSX Venture Exchange. Since initially acquiring a 51% controlling interest in 2022, Volatus increased its stake to 58.47% in 2025, and now owns 100% of Synergy Aviation.
Glen Lynch, CEO of Volatus Aerospace, stated that this consolidation will facilitate greater operational coordination across the company's aviation, training, and engineering activities. The acquisition strategically supports the launch of Volatus’ commercial aircraft operations in Tulsa, Oklahoma, planned for later in March 2026. This expansion aims to target the US oil and gas market, leveraging Synergy’s expertise in aerial intelligence and infrastructure inspection.
"Following the company's graduation to the Toronto Stock Exchange in late February 2026, this move aligns with Volatus' broader defense strategy. The company is positioning itself as a key contributor to Canada's sovereign uncrewed systems initiative, with a focus on AI-enabled autonomous capabilities for NATO and domestic government agencies," said Glen Lynch.
With the full ownership now secured, Volatus is positioning itself as a significant player in the aerospace and defense sectors, leveraging its expanded capabilities and strategic geographical focus to advance its market presence and technological innovation.
