Noida International Airport is nearing operational launch with a strong focus on gender diversity and safety. Women are actively involved across leadership, technical, and operational functions, shaping the airport's readiness for passenger services. The project aims to build an inclusive workforce from the ground up, with women holding key roles such as Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Head of Human Resources.
The airport recently received its aerodrome license from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and is expected to commence passenger operations within the coming one to two months. Spanning over 1,300 hectares, it features a single runway and a terminal capable of handling approximately 12 million passengers annually. Women professionals participate in critical areas including operations control, flight management, compliance, safety, and emergency response teams.
During the construction phase, women accounted for over half of the engineering staff involved in key activities and contributed actively to environmental health and safety teams. The airport administration has implemented various measures, including secure transport, shift protocols, creche facilities, and grievance redressal systems, to support a 24/7 operational environment. Officials emphasize that the inclusive approach aids in establishing a modern, diverse, and resilient organizational structure, essential for the airport’s successful launch and operation.
