Zela Aviation has renewed its strategic collaboration with the Municipality of Syros-Ermoupoli for a second year. The partnership aims to foster connections between Syros Island and international destinations, expanding tourism and facilitating travel options for leisure and business.
The collaboration leverages Zela Aviation’s and its subsidiary Zela Jet’s services, focusing on attracting private aircraft, executive jets, and helicopters to Syros. The Syros-Thessaloniki route will operate during the 2026 season from April 9 to October 22, with increased weekly flights during peak summer months.
Andreas Christodoulides, chairman at Zela Aviation, expressed enthusiasm about the renewal, emphasizing the island’s growth potential. Ioannis Voutsinos, deputy mayor for tourism, highlighted positive outcomes from the initial year and noted that targeted marketing efforts will continue to promote tourism and airline engagement.
Syros Island National Airport Dimitrios Vikelas, serving approximately 20,000 passengers annually, connects the island with Athens and regional destinations. Zela Jet, established in 2020, provides helicopter and private jet charters across Greece and Europe. Overall, Zela Aviation has been operating since 2006, offering aircraft leasing and sales, with offices in Cyprus, Greece, and the UK, serving clients worldwide.
