Airlines extend Gulf and Middle East flight suspensions as Iran-war airspace limits persist

This disruption ended on 11 Oct 2026.

Since 30 Sep 2026 · Checked 11 Oct 2026, 07:31 UTC

Regional airspace restrictions linked to the Iran war, extended on 30 September, are still forcing airlines to suspend or cut Middle East services. Wizz Air has cancelled all Abu Dhabi and Dubai flights for the winter season (25 October to 27 March) and is also affected on Amman. Singapore Airlines has pushed back its Dubai resumption to 24 October, and Air Canada, KLM, British Airways and Finnair have extended suspensions. Emirates operates one daily Dubai-Bahrain flight, while Dubai-Kuwait remains fully suspended.

What travellers should do

Check your airline's latest schedule before travelling and do not go to the airport without a confirmed, operating flight. Ask about refunds or rebooking if your Gulf, Amman or Riyadh flight is cancelled.
