The year 2025 has been marked by significant milestones in the aviation industry, including record-breaking global air capacity and extensive expansion of airline networks. The busiest day recorded was August 1, with nearly 20 million seats available worldwide, surpassing the previous year's peak. Conversely, January 28 saw the lowest capacity, reflecting seasonal travel patterns.

Among airlines, American Airlines led in the number of seats operated and flight frequency, while United Airlines topped in available seat kilometers. Hong Kong emerged as the airport adding the most new routes, with 24 introduced in 2025. Several routes, such as CJU-GMP and MEL-SYD, operated more than 100 flights daily, illustrating some of the busiest domestic corridors.

Notably, Colombian regional carrier Clic Air experienced the most rapid growth, increasing capacity by 50%, partly due to higher flight frequencies on the Bogotá-Medellín route. Additionally, Hong Kong's airport expanded its operational capacity by utilizing its three runways simultaneously, reflecting an infrastructure boost.

This year in aviation signals robust growth and network expansion, setting the stage for continued industry development in 2026, with data-driven insights guiding future trends.
