Gulf Air has continued to suspend scheduled flights to and from Bahrain International Airport due to ongoing airspace restrictions. In response, the airline has stationed eleven aircraft, including Airbus A321-200, Airbus A321-200NX, Airbus A321-200NX(LR), and Boeing 787-9 models, in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, to operate its interim network.
The airline has opened reservations for flights through Dammam to multiple international destinations, including Paris, Manila, Cairo, Casablanca, Chennai, Frankfurt, Nairobi, London, Mumbai, and Bangkok. The disruption is related to an airspace closure that has affected main routes from Bahrain International, prompting the temporary network plan.
Official sources, such as the Bahrain News Agency, have confirmed the suspension and the outsourcing of flights to Dammam during this period. Gulf Air remains committed to resuming normal scheduled operations once the airspace restrictions are lifted. The airline's current strategy underscores its adaptive measures amidst regional airspace challenges, maintaining connectivity through Saudi Arabia until Bahrain's airspace reopens.
