Emirates, the flagship airline of Dubai, has announced the resumption of limited commercial flights starting on 2 March, following partial reopenings of airports by the United Arab Emirates' General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). This development is part of a broader regional effort to restore air connectivity disrupted by previous restrictions, including those related to health and security concerns.

The GCAA issued a Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) permitting operations on a limited number of routes departing from and arriving at Dubai International, Dubai World Central, Sharjah, and Ras al Khaimah International airports. These measures are intended to facilitate essential travel while maintaining safety protocols in the region.

As a result of the reopening, airlines such as Emirates and Etihad Airways have begun limited flight services to support regional mobility. However, certain neighboring countries, including Jordan, have implemented flight restrictions, with Jordan's airspace now closed daily from 1800L (1500Z) to 0900L (0600Z), affecting routes operated by Royal Jordanian Airlines from Amman Queen Alia Airport.

Authorities and airlines continue to monitor the situation, aiming to gradually expand operations as conditions allow. The partial reopening signifies a positive step toward restoring normal air traffic flow in the Middle East region amidst ongoing regional and global challenges.
