Houthi missile attacks shut Riyadh King Khalid airport, flights cancelled

Houthi missile and drone attacks have repeatedly struck King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. The 8 October attack killed three people including a Saudia captain, and the airport reopened on 9 October. A further attack on 10 October was reported to have killed at least 12 and halted flights. Airlines continue to cancel or suspend Riyadh flights, and Delta's planned 23 October Atlanta-Riyadh launch is in doubt.

A five-day strike by flight crew under French labour law has been called from 17 to 21 October, at the start of the Toussaint school holidays. It covers Air France, Transavia France and Corsair. No detailed cancellation schedules had been published at the time of the sources.

About 130 Unite members at Leeds Bradford Airport, including air traffic control, customer experience, security and cleaning staff, will strike from 16 to 18 October over pay. Unite warns of a shutdown, but the airport says it expects near-normal operations. No airlines have been named as affected.
