Airline
Condor, legally Condor Flugdienst GmbH, is a German leisure airline. According to Wikipedia, it was founded on 21 December 1955 as Deutsche Flugdienst and began flying on 29 March 1956. It is owned 51% by Attestor Capital and 49% by SG Luftfahrtgesellschaft, and is headquartered in Frankfurt. Going reports that the state-backed loan was repaid early in spring 2026, and that Attestor plans to buy the remaining 49%, with closing planned for 31 August 2027. Condor is not a member of an airline alliance.
Frankfurt is the long-haul hub. Operating bases are Berlin Brandenburg, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, Stuttgart and Zurich, with Münster/Osnabrück due to begin on 2 November 2026. Condor flies medium-haul routes to the Mediterranean and Canary Islands, and long-haul routes to Africa, Asia, North America, South America and the Caribbean. Wikipedia lists about 94 destinations. In summer 2025 it also added European city routes from Frankfurt, including Rome, Milan, Prague and Vienna. Fly Air41 Airways operates some aircraft for Condor under wet-lease agreements.
Wikipedia's infobox gave a fleet of 55 aircraft in 2026, though other versions and third-party sources give figures of 50 to about 60. The long-haul fleet is entirely Airbus A330-900neo; Global Traveler reports four more on order, with 25 planned by 2031. The last Boeing 767 flew in March 2024. Short- and medium-haul flights use Airbus A320-family aircraft.
The A330neo has three cabins. Economy and Premium Economy are laid out 2-4-2. According to the Condor cabin page, Premium Economy has an 89 cm seat pitch, a footrest and a 13.3-inch 4K monitor. Business has lie-flat seats in a 1-2-1 layout with direct aisle access and a 17.3-inch 4K screen. Bluetooth headphones can be used, and USB ports and Wi-Fi are available. Power sockets are fitted only in Business and Premium Economy. Premium Economy includes a premium menu and a complimentary drink.
