Airline
Thai Vietjet Air, also branded Vietjet Thailand, is a low-cost airline and an associate company of Vietnam's VietJet Air. According to Wikipedia, it received its air operator's certificate in November 2014 and began flying in March 2015. It is headquartered in Bang Phli, Samut Prakan, and is led by chief executive Woranate Laprabang. It does not belong to a global alliance. Its frequent-flyer programme is VietJet SkyClub.
The main base is Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, with a second base at Taipei Taoyuan listed on Wikipedia. The airline serves Thai domestic routes and international destinations, with 29 destinations listed. A third-party route guide reports 22 domestic routes across 11 Thai airports. The wider Vietnam–Thailand market is large: Vietnam News says VietJet's network between the two countries has carried 50 million passengers on 40 routes. Thai Vietjet and Thai AirAsia X were the two carriers using Suvarnabhumi's new satellite terminal during its soft-launch period, according to Aviation Week.
Vietnam News reported in May 2026 that the airline operates 22 aircraft in Thailand. Wikipedia's November 2025 table listed 12 Airbus A320-200, 6 Airbus A321-200 and 8 Boeing 737 MAX 8. The first 737 MAX 8 arrived on 23 November 2025, per Simple Flying, as the first of 50 to be transferred from the VietJet group order. The Bangkok Post reports the airline expects 29 aircraft by the end of 2026, with four Airbus jets remaining, and 50 737-8s by 2028. Fleet figures differ between sources and change quickly.
