Airline
TUI fly Deutschland (legally TUIfly GmbH) is a German leisure airline owned by TUI Group. According to Wikipedia, it traces its origins to Hapag-Lloyd Flug (1972) and began operating under its current form on 15 January 2007, after the merger of Hapag-Lloyd Flug and Hapag-Lloyd Express. It is headquartered at Hannover Airport in Langenhagen. It is not a member of an airline alliance.
The airline flies from several German airports to holiday destinations, mainly around the Mediterranean. Wikipedia lists bases at Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hannover, Munich and Stuttgart, and 38 destinations. Typical destinations include Spain (including the Canary Islands), Greece, Egypt, Cape Verde, Madeira, Morocco and Tunisia. Unlike TUI's sister airlines, it does not operate long-haul flights; plans for Boeing 787 services to the Caribbean and Mexico were shelved after the COVID-19 pandemic. Network details change by season.
As of July 2026, Wikipedia lists 23 aircraft: 14 Boeing 737-800 and 9 Boeing 737 MAX 8, with 16 more 737 MAX on order. In August 2025 the fleet was 15 737-800s and 7 737 MAX 8s, so the 737 MAX share is growing.
Flights are single-class economy. The airline sells both charter and scheduled seats; most seats are sold through TUI and other tour operators as package holidays, and individual seats are sold mainly through tui.com/flug. On the Pure fare, meals are not included, and snacks and drinks can be pre-booked or bought on board. Wikipedia notes that hot meals are served on the longest routes, such as the Canary Islands, Cape Verde, Egypt and Madeira. Seat pitch, entertainment and Wi-Fi details were not confirmed in the sources reviewed.
