Delta Air Lines is reinstating daily transatlantic flights between Boston and Reykjavik, Iceland, from 12 April 2027, according to AirlineGeeks. The Atlanta-based airline announced the service on Friday 16 October 2026, and it is due to run through 30 October 2027, with tickets going on sale over the weekend.

Route details

AirlineGeeks reports that the daily service will be operated by a Boeing 757-200. Delta briefly served the market in 2021, according to Cirium Diio schedule data cited by the outlet, so the route has not been flown by the airline since then.

The flights will operate during the summer season only, running from mid-April to the end of October.

Part of a wider Boston expansion

According to the airline, as reported by AirlineGeeks, Reykjavik will become Delta's 14th unique long-haul destination and its 16th international destination from Boston during the peak summer season.

The Reykjavik announcement follows other Boston additions for 2027:

  • Boston–Venice: starts 7 May 2027 and operates four times weekly through 29 October, using Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
  • Boston–Milan: Delta is increasing flights to daily in 2027.

What this means for travellers

The route adds a nonstop option between Boston and Iceland's capital for summer 2027. Travellers planning trips on either side of the Atlantic can look to book once tickets go on sale this weekend, and should note that the service is seasonal, with flights available only between 12 April and 30 October.

The 757-200 is the aircraft Delta plans to use, and the daily schedule gives flexibility on travel days. The sources do not give flight times, fares or details of cabin configuration, so these are not yet known.

Those interested in Europe more broadly from Boston will also see new Venice flights and more frequent Milan service in the same season.
