Qatar Airways has announced a temporary schedule of limited flights scheduled between March 9 and March 11, 2026. This move follows recent airspace closures in the region, which have disrupted normal operations and left many passengers stranded. The airline is operating under special approval from the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, with restricted corridors designed to restore connectivity to key destinations. These flights are primarily aimed at supporting stranded travelers and reconnecting with family members, rather than resuming the full global network.
The airline confirmed that scheduled flights remain suspended due to airspace restrictions. However, the authorized routes will facilitate departures from Doha to major international hubs including London, Seoul, Moscow, New Delhi, Madrid, Islamabad, Beijing, Perth, Nairobi, and Istanbul on the first day. The schedule will expand on March 10 to include Cairo, Jeddah, Manila, Kochi, Muscat, Mumbai, Frankfurt, Colombo, and Milan. Return flights from these cities to Doha are also planned, providing a critical lifeline for passengers trying to return home amid the ongoing crisis.
This limited operation underscores the broader aviation disruption across the Middle East caused by conflict-related airspace closures. Major regional carriers such as Emirates and Etihad are also adjusting their schedules accordingly. Authorities and airlines continue to monitor the security situation, emphasizing the importance of checking real-time updates and confirmed tickets before heading to airports.
