Qatar Airways began flying to two new South American destinations on Wednesday 4 November 2026, according to AirlineGeeks. The twice-weekly service runs from Doha to Bogotá, Colombia, then on to Caracas, Venezuela, using a Boeing 777-200LR. AirlineGeeks says this makes Qatar Airways the first Gulf carrier to serve Venezuela.
The flights operate on Wednesdays and Sundays. According to AirlineGeeks, the aircraft leaves Doha at 7:35 a.m. and reaches Bogotá at 4:25 p.m. After a 90-minute stop, it continues to Caracas, arriving at 9 p.m. The return leaves Caracas at 11:30 p.m. and flies nonstop to Doha, arriving at 8:35 p.m. the following day. All times are local.
The outbound journey is therefore a one-stop loop, while the return does not stop in Bogotá.
The airline originally planned to begin the route in July but postponed it after an earthquake in Venezuela, AirlineGeeks says, citing Aviation Week.
Qatar Airways is also widening its codeshare with LATAM to cover domestic flights from Bogotá. Under the agreement, Qatar's code will appear on LATAM services to destinations including Medellín, Cartagena and Cali, according to AirlineGeeks.
The new routes bring the carrier's network in the Americas to 17 destinations. Qatar Airways first served South America in 2010, with flights to São Paulo.
