JetBlue Airways is a US low-cost carrier headquartered in Long Island City, Queens, New York City. According to Wikipedia, it was incorporated in 1998 as NewAir, was founded by David Neeleman, and began flying on 11 February 2000 with services to Buffalo and Fort Lauderdale. It is listed on Nasdaq (JBLU), and Joanna Geraghty is chief executive. JetBlue is not a member of a global alliance, but it has codeshare agreements with airlines from oneworld, SkyTeam and Star Alliance. In May 2025 it announced a loyalty partnership with United Airlines called Blue Sky.
JetBlue is mainly a point-to-point carrier. Its main hub is New York JFK, and its focus cities are Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles, New York JFK, Orlando and San Juan. Wikipedia lists 111 destinations across the Americas and Europe. Los Angeles was downgraded from an operating base to a spoke in 2024, after the planned Spirit Airlines merger was blocked in court.
In its Q2 2026 investor update, JetBlue reported an operating fleet of 296 aircraft as of 30 June 2026:
The total includes aircraft temporarily removed from service.
Most flights have an economy cabin. Mint, the premium cabin introduced in 2014, offers lie-flat seats on transcontinental and selected Caribbean and transatlantic routes. Wikipedia describes a Mint A321 layout of 16 premium seats and 143 economy seats. Entertainment includes DIRECTV channels, SiriusXM radio and movies, and Wikipedia reports that Fly-Fi Wi-Fi is complimentary on all flights. Seat pitch and meal details were not confirmed from sources for this profile, so check JetBlue's website for the fare and route you intend to book.
