Air Serbia will launch nonstop flights between Belgrade and Miami on 20 May 2027, as part of a summer 2027 expansion that adds six destinations in total. The twice-weekly service will use the Airbus A330-200 and become the airline's longest route, according to Simple Flying and AeroTime.
Miami will be Air Serbia's third US destination after New York JFK and Chicago O'Hare, and its fourth in North America including Toronto. Simple Flying reports flights will operate on Thursdays and Sundays over roughly 5,471 miles (8,805 km), surpassing the carrier's services to Shanghai and Guangzhou. It would be the first nonstop link between Serbia and Florida.
The schedule published by Simple Flying shows JU502 leaving Belgrade at 1:50 pm on Thursdays and 11:30 am on Sundays, with a block time of 12 hours. Return flight JU503 departs Miami at 10:30 pm on Thursdays and 7:00 pm on Sundays, taking 10 hours 30 minutes and arriving the following afternoon or morning respectively.
Simple Flying says the aircraft will be an A330-200, with the two newest in the four-aircraft fleet configured with 22 business and 240 economy seats, though layouts vary across the fleet.
AeroTime reports that CEO Jiri Marek announced the plans in an interview with Serbian broadcaster RTS. The sources differ on the date: AeroTime says 18 October 2026, Simple Flying says 19 October. Alongside Miami, Air Serbia will add Yerevan, Cluj-Napoca, Chisinau and Minorca, and reinstate Helsinki, which it served before the pandemic.
AeroTime adds that Marek expects two more A320-family aircraft and another Embraer E-Jet in 2027, that passenger numbers rose around 6 per cent year on year over the first nine months of 2026, and that he expects 2026 to be the airline's best year. The airline marks its 100th anniversary in 2027.
Simple Flying says Miami has been under discussion since at least 2023, with earlier hoped-for launches in 2025 and 2026 not materialising. Citing EX-YU, it reports nearly 20,000 passengers flew between Belgrade and Miami on connecting single tickets in 2025, up about 40 per cent, making it the busiest US market from Belgrade without a nonstop. Marek has described Miami as a market that depends on combining several passenger segments.
Simple Flying also notes that Air Serbia has an interline agreement with American Airlines, which has a major Miami hub, though convenient connections and codeshare benefits are not assured.
Summer 2027 also brings new European options from Belgrade, including Helsinki, Yerevan, Cluj-Napoca, Chisinau and Minorca. Start dates for these were not given in the sources.
